Bouddha Nath is one of the most imposing landmarks in Kathmandu, visible as soon as you land at the Tribhuvan International Airport. It is the largest stupa in the Kathmandu Valley. The 36-meter-high stupa of Buddha Nath is one of the largest stupas in South Asia. With countless monasteries surrounding it, Bhoothnath is the centre of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. Built in the shape of a mandala designed to replicate the Gyangtse of Tibet, the stupa was renovated by Licchhavi rulers in the 8th century.
Buddha Nath is also most important pilgrimage for Buddhists religious people. In local language it is known as ''Jhyarung Khasyor'' and also known as ''Khasti'' in Newari Community. This Stupa also listed in world heritage Site by the UNESCO because of it Historical, cultural, and architecture Value. There is believe that a Buddhist has to visit here at least once in a life to get Nirvana. Boudha Nath is also Known as wish fulfiller (Chintamani) In Sanskrit. There is believe that it will full fills any kind of wish after worship here. In another symbolic meaning this stupa is taken as Buddha itself and the represent of five elements. Its Plinth is symbol of Earth, dome is symbol of water, Hermika or eye (symbol of love, compassion and equality) part is fire, conical 13 steps are symbol of air, where this area of pinnacle is symbol of space or sky. Once who visits this place gets different experience, positive energies.
